My passion is web development. I am currently back in school earning my Graduate Certification in Web Services from Webster University−Webster Groves, Missouri. My fascination with all things IT has sprung from my professional background.

Over the course of the last ten years, I have worked in the information field as a librarian, research and technology instructor, and web developer. I began my library career in 2000 as an intern in the Western Illinois University Malpass Library reference department. It was during this internship that I built my first website and began my fascination with the internet. After completing my undergraduate studies in 2001, I interned that summer with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in Washington D.C.  In 2003, I graduated with my Master’s of Library and Information Science degree from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois.

I am currently the Library Director for the East Saint Louis Community College (ESLCCC).  Located in a socioeconomically depressed urban setting, the library I direct brings critically needed services to an underrepresented population.

Previous to this position, I spent five years as a research teacher and instructor. Working both in the academic and private sectors,  I worked as an Adjunct Professor of Information Literacy (research instruction) at McKendree University−Lebanon, Illinois−for the  better part of two years. For the better part of three years, I worked as the Training and Information Specialist for R.R. Bowker publishing. In my role at Bowker, I managed the training of over 4,000 libraries throughout the world.

My first professional library job was as a Reference Librarian and Information Literacy Instructor for the Niles Public Library District. A mid-sized library that serves 60,000 patrons and houses a 250,000 volume collection, the Niles Public Library is an exemplar library. Here I worked the front line of reference, research, and instruction.
